The Butterfly Effect

You have the power to make a difference.  I know it often does not feel that way.  It can feel like the world is going along and things happen far beyond our control or influence.  But is this true?  Have you ever heard of theMake a difference butterfly effect?  “In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependency on initial conditions in which a small change at one place in a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.” (Wikipedia) What does this mean?  It basically means that even the smallest action can have a unbelievable large impact!  It has been said that a hurricane and its formation is literally effected by a butterfly flapping its wings from a distant place several weeks earlier.  I have pasted the link here for you from Wikipedia, so you can read more:

It would be wonderful if we could accept the impact we have with even the smallest action.  Mother Teresa said it this way,

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
I would encourage you today to do some small thing with great love. I will join you in making a small action and see its impact.  And even if I can’t actually see it, I will have the faith to know that my actions are reverberating out far beyond what I can see and know that I am truly making a difference.

Many blessings and much love,

Contact your higher self

The other day I was listening to an old song with these words, “Your love is lifting me higher than I’ve ever been lifted before” and I thought, ‘now THAT is a great song about meditation!’  I know it’s a love song of course, but all love is really God love.  And all desire is a desire to know God.  How do we know God?  Through prayer and meditation.

Meditation is contacting your higher self, the God part of you to know and experience God. Image Meditation will help you live life from a deeper place of connection and higher place of love.  A few minutes a day is a great place to start…especially if you are new to it.  If you do meditate already, expand your practice and see how you are changed and lifted.  When that happens you can join me in the back-up chorus singing “your love is lifting me, just keeps lifting me…”  and then show your gratitude to God by giving great thanks with much love and then living that energy in the world.

Thank you for joining me on this spiritual journey – this journey of meditation and the evolving soul.  And know that as you do, you are guided and guarded by the Holy Spirit.  You are loved, you are safe, you are blessed.

Many blessings and much love,

Love Is All You Need

Love is the most important thing in life – it what helps us get up in the morning. It is love that prompts us to give more to those we love and it is love that that makes us more. Love is necessary for survival and just as necessary to thrive. Love makes up the fabric of our lives. May you be loved and give love today!

Thank you for joining me in our conversation on love this last Sunday. I heard several conversations as well during our Hospitality time after services. This Sunday we will have questions on the tables in hospitality to spark conversation and help us deepen our spiritual understanding of LOVE. This week we continue our series on the 5 Love Languages.

I hope you will be touched at the heart by the poem below by Hafiz.

“It happens all the time in heaven,
And some day it will begin to happen Again on earth –
That men and women who are married,
And men and men who are Lovers,
And women and women
Who give each otherLight,
Often will get down on their knees
And while so tenderly
Holding their lover’s hand,
With tears in their eyes,
Will sincerely speak, saying,
My dear,
How can I be more loving to you;
How can I be more kind?”

Many blessings and much love,

What language do you speak?

We know that all love is from God, but it seems to not always translate into healthy, loving relationships. LOVE seems to be a mystery at times but what if there were help to figure out how to bring more love into your life? And to know when someone else feels loved and respected by the way you communicate?

Learn to communicate the love you want and also learn to love better! The book for our LOVE series is called, The 5 Love Languages, The Secret to Love that Lasts. Our series on LOVE begins this Sunday, February 2. The books are in our bookstore. See you Sunday as we explore the fun and deeply meaningful topic of The Nature and Language of Love.

I am praying with you to know the love of God in every aspect of your life!

Many blessings and much love,
